American football legend Brett Favre will continue his career by playing for the Minnesota Vikings this season.
The quarterback, 39, - three times voted NFL Most Valuable Player - first chose to retire in 2008 after 16 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
He reversed that decision and played for the New York Jets last term.
Having quit again he practised with the Vikings on Tuesday wearing his trademark number four and said: "I am excited about the opportunity."
Favre is the NFL's all-time leader in touchdowns (464), completions (5,720), attempts (9,281), yards (65,127), wins (169) and interceptions (310).
Struggling with a shoulder injury late last season, he threw only two touchdown passes and nine of his league-high 22 interceptions as the Jets lost four of their last five games to squander a play-off spot.
But looking ahead to his time with Minnesota he said: "From ownership, to coaching, to the players, it is evident that everyone in the Vikings organization is committed to bringing the fans of Minnesota a championship.
"I am eager to join my new team-mates and get to work towards that goal."
